Echo for iPhone and iPad · Digital Hope Ltd · Last updated 3 September 2026
Echo is a daily memory game made by Digital Hope Ltd ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the Echo app collects, why, and what your choices are.
When you first open Echo the app creates an anonymous account with Firebase Authentication (a Google service). This gives you a random identifier so that your streak, statistics and daily results can be saved and restored. It is not linked to your name, email address or Apple Account unless you choose to sign in.
Each completed Daily (the day, your score and result grid), your streak, statistics and Endless best are stored under your player ID in Cloud Firestore (Google). If you unlock Echo+ and replay past puzzles, those archive scores are stored on your device only.
If you choose to sign in, Apple shares your name and an email address (which may be Apple's private relay address) with us so we can link your player ID to your Apple Account and restore your progress on another device. You can use Apple's "Hide My Email" option. Signing in is never required to play.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how Echo is used: which screens are opened, rounds started and completed, themes chosen, and purchases made. Echo uses the version of the analytics library that does not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA). Analytics data is tied to a random app-instance ID, not to your player ID or your identity. We do not use it for advertising or for tracking you across other companies' apps or websites.
Echo+ is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. The app checks your purchase status with Apple (StoreKit) so it can unlock Echo+.
If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. Nothing about this leaves your device.
The Firebase libraries may collect anonymous diagnostic information (for example, whether a request succeeded) to keep their services working.
Google LLC (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Google Analytics for Firebase) processes data on our behalf under the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms. Data may be stored on Google servers outside the UK, including in the United States, under Google's standard contractual safeguards. Apple Inc. processes purchases and Sign in with Apple.
Game data and your anonymous player ID are kept for as long as you use Echo, so your history and streaks survive reinstalling the app or changing phones. Analytics event data is retained by Firebase for 14 months. Data on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Echo is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
We will update this page if our practices change and update the date at the top.
